This is a highly entertaining episode. Not gonna lie, we had a bunch of fun and considering the fact that I am a Kansas guy and he is a Missouri guy......this really could have gone sideways fast.

Alex Fitzpatrick - Wake Forest's Walker Cupper from Sheffield

My guest on this episode is Alex Fitzpatrick. Alex had a solid showing at the 2019 Walker Cup where he went 2-2. He had an impressive singles victory against Cole Hammer and he also teamed up with Conor Purcell in the opening match on Saturday to defeat US Amateur Champion Andy Ogletree and my last guest, U.S. Amateur Runner-Up, John Augenstein. This episode was recorded before the coronavirus pandemic hit the United States and cancelled his sophomore season at Wake Forest. In fact, we were speaking about Wake Forest making another run towards the National Championship...before finding out later that the entire season would be cancelled. During Alex's freshman year, he won his match against Stanford's Henry Shimp in the quarterfinals. It's hard not to root for Alex.....I think you're going to see a lot of him on the amateur and collegiate scene in the next couple years. While multiple Walker Cup appearances are rare in the world of amateur golf these days......I don't think it'll be a surprise if you see him representing the GB&I team again in 2021 at Seminole.

We spoke about his practice rounds at Augusta National in preparation for the Masters, the vibe in the U.S. team room the night before the final day at the Walker Cup, and how he has balanced academics with athletics at Vanderbilt.

Our third episode takes us down The Road to Hoylake as we catch up Austin Eckroat from Oklahoma State University and Steven Fisk from Georgia Southern. Austin will return to OSU next season as the anchor of the team after the departure of Matthew Wolff and Viktor Hovland and will look to bring another National Championship to Stillwater like he did in 2018. Steven just wrapped up an incredible career at Georgia Southern by finishing runner-up at the 2019 NCAA National Championship. An incredble conversation about life as an amateur, his thoughts on the amateur game, and fond memories from the Walker Cup. Jim is an incredible player, person, and ambassador for golf.

Kevin O'Connell - 2018 U.S. Mid-Amateur Champion

Our guest this week is the 2018 United States Mid-Amateur Champion, Kevin O'Connell. Kevin played collegiately at UNC before giving the mini-tours a try with limited success. After becoming a reinstated amateur, he found success on the amateur side which culminated with the Mid-Am win at Charlotte C.C. last year. Kevin is making a Walker Cup run this year to represent the United States at Royal Liverpool.

Our guest this week is Scott Harvey from Greensboro, NC. Along with his win at the 2014 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Saucon Valley, Scott has played in the Masters, U.S. Open, and Walker Cup. He's also picked up victories in some of the most elite amateur tournaments in the world like the Coleman, the Thomas, and the Crump Cup at Pine Valley. But don't let the resume fool you....because Scott can just as easily crack a few beers and crank some tunes on the course and feel right at home at a local charity scramble!

Coach Larkin talks about his experience caddying at the Masters, what lies ahead for the UCLA team as they make a push towards the National Championship, and his own goals as a player.

Bob Murphy - 1965 US Amateur Champion

Bob won the 1965 US Amateur and the 1966 NCAA Individual National Championship before embarking on a successful professional career where he won multiple times on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour.
